Our congregation is part of a larger tradition called the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) that was born in the 1800's and expanded with the American frontier. The denomination continues to be influenced by the founding ideals of unity in Christ, regular sharing in communion, and practicing of believer's baptism.
The Chalice symbolizes the central place of the Lord's supper in our worship. The X-shaped cross of the disciple Andrew is a reminder of the ministry of each person and the importance of evangelism. More details about the history and beliefs of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) are available at www.disciples.org.
In our denominational structure, local congregations are only one expression of the church's witness. With the other congregations, regions, and ministries that make up the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we seek to be a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.
Below are some of the denominational partners we are proud to partner with in ministry.
